Every creative professional has a turning point where they decide to stop following the conventional route and start building something of their own. For Aayushi Chouksey, that moment came when she realized that her true calling wasn’t just in designing clothes but in becoming the face, voice, and storyteller of fashion itself.
Aayushi’s journey started at NIFT Mumbai, where she studied fashion. Like most design students, her path seemed defined—finish studies, work with fashion houses, build a portfolio, and gradually climb the ladder. And for a while, she followed that path. She worked as an assistant fashion designer, giving hours of her day to sketches, fabrics, and someone else’s vision. But deep down, she knew she wanted more than that.
In her curriculum, she came across a subject called fashion photography. At first, it didn’t excite her much. She wasn’t drawn to standing behind the camera or handling technicalities. But soon, her perspective shifted. She started realizing that while she could appreciate the craft of photography, her real energy and confidence came alive in front of the camera. Being on the other side—the side that carried expression, presence, and story—felt more natural to her. That’s when she stumbled upon the term “blogging,” introduced by her lecturers, and it was like discovering a whole new world.
While working her 9-to-5 job as an assistant designer, she started experimenting with photoshoots alongside her friends. It wasn’t about fancy equipment or big budgets; it was about testing her interest, practicing poses, and understanding how storytelling works visually. Slowly, she added another skill to her bag—photography. She began taking small assignments, brushing her editing and shooting skills. The more she explored, the clearer her vision became. She wasn’t meant to stay behind the scenes forever; she was meant to create, express, and showcase fashion through her own lens.
The lockdown period acted as a catalyst. Like many creators, Aayushi shifted from photos to short-form videos. Reels became her playground—where she could merge creativity, styling, scripting, and editing. What started as a hobby soon turned into a profession. She embraced every part of the content creation process, from planning the idea to editing the final cut. Today, she proudly calls herself a one-woman army, managing everything independently.
But it hasn’t been an easy ride. Choosing content creation as a career means dealing with uncertainty, long hours, self-doubt, and the constant need to stay relevant. Aayushi, however, turned those challenges into fuel. She invested her creativity not into designing for others but into shaping her own brand. Her ability to combine her fashion background with her knowledge of photography and editing gave her a strong edge. It made her content polished, versatile, and authentic.
Her work soon began to get noticed. Brands started trusting her vision, collaborating with her to bring campaigns to life. For Aayushi, every collaboration is more than a professional assignment—it’s recognition of the effort she put into building herself from scratch. And even though she is currently handling everything solo, she dreams of building a bigger team one day, a team of equally passionate creators who can help her amplify her work.
What makes her journey inspiring is her honesty about the struggles. She openly acknowledges that no creator builds success alone. It takes trust—brands that believe in you, audiences that engage with you, and mentors who guide you. She is grateful for all those who stood by her, because in the end, their support helped turn her passion into a full-time career.
From being a fashion student who thought photography wasn’t her interest to becoming a content creator who thrives in front of the camera, Aayushi has come a long way. Her story is proof that success comes not just from talent but also from the courage to change direction when your heart tells you to.
Today, Aayushi Chouksey is not just creating content—she’s building a narrative where fashion, creativity, and individuality intersect. And in that space, she has truly found where she belongs.
