BJP Takes a Dig at Mahagathbandhan Over Missing Faces in Joint Presser Poster

The opposition’s attempt to show unity in Bihar politics turned into an unexpected talking point after a joint press conference of the Mahagathbandhan featured a poster showing only Tejashwi Yadav. While leaders from multiple parties stood together during the event, the visual presentation told a different story—one that the BJP was quick to capitalize on.

The BJP mocked the alliance for what it called a “selective show of unity”, pointing out that despite several leaders attending the press meet, the official poster displayed only RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. BJP leaders said this revealed internal rifts and ego clashes among alliance members, suggesting that the Mahagathbandhan’s claims of unity were merely symbolic.

Tejashwi Yadav, however, brushed aside the criticism, stating that the focus should remain on public issues rather than political posters. He emphasized that the alliance’s strength lies in its shared agenda and not in visual representation. Other alliance partners, including Congress and Left parties, maintained that such distractions were unnecessary and politically motivated.

The joint press conference itself aimed to highlight the opposition’s coordinated campaign plans ahead of upcoming elections. Leaders spoke on issues of unemployment, price rise, and the central government’s handling of key sectors. Yet, the discussion around the missing faces on the poster overshadowed much of that messaging.

Political observers say that in Bihar’s dynamic political landscape, optics play as strong a role as policy. A single image—or its absence—can shape narratives and fuel speculation. The Mahagathbandhan’s challenge now is to ensure its visual and political unity match before it takes its message to the voters.

In the end, while the poster might have been a design oversight, it gave the BJP enough ammunition to question the alliance’s coherence. For the Mahagathbandhan, the task ahead isn’t just to stay united, but to look united too.
