Comedian Sunil Pal Critiques Aryan Khan’s ‘The Ba*ds of Bollywood’ for Mocking Hindi Cinema**

Comedian Sunil Pal has expressed strong disapproval of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, accusing the series of disparaging the very film industry that propelled his father, Shah Rukh Khan, to superstardom. In a candid discussion on a Hindi Rush podcast, Pal remarked, “Jis Bollywood ne aapke baap ko itna bada superstar banaya, aaj uss Bollywood ki buraayi aap iss tarah kar rahe ho,” emphasizing the irony of criticizing the industry that facilitated their success.

The series, available on Netflix, has garnered attention for its satirical portrayal of Bollywood’s inner workings. While many viewers appreciate its bold commentary, Pal believes that Aryan Khan, with his ample resources and platform, could have chosen a different creative path. He suggested that Aryan had the opportunity to produce work that would have been lauded by esteemed filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, rather than opting for a project that some perceive as critical of the industry.

The series features actors Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, and Manoj Pahwa, with cameos from several Bollywood A-listers. It narrates the journey of an outsider striving to make a mark in Bollywood, navigating through internal politics and rivalries.

While the show has sparked discussions about its portrayal of the film industry, it’s important to recognize that creative works often serve as reflections or critiques of the environments they depict. As the series continues to be viewed and analyzed, it remains to be seen how it will influence perceptions of Bollywood and its inner dynamics.
