India Positions Space as Core to Future Security and Sovereignty

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has articulated a forward-looking vision, positioning space as a cornerstone of India’s national security, economic growth, and energy strategy. During the event, Singh felicitated four Indian Air Force officers—Group Captains Shubhanshu Shukla, P B Nair, Ajit Krishnan, and Angad Pratap—who are part of the Gaganyaan mission. He described them as “gems of the country and pioneers of national aspirations,” acknowledging their contributions to India’s space endeavors.
