Lashkar Commander Confirms Destruction of Muridke HQ in Operation Sindoor

In a significant development, a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander has publicly acknowledged the destruction of the group’s headquarters in Muridke, Pakistan, during India’s Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. The admission comes amid ongoing efforts by LeT to rebuild the facility, despite the setback.

Details of the Admission
In a video message, LeT commander Abu Qasim is seen standing amidst the rubble of the destroyed Markaz Taiba camp in Muridke. He confirms that the facility, a key training center for numerous terrorists, was destroyed in the Indian attack. Qasim further states that the group is in the process of rebuilding the camp, aiming to make it “even bigger” than before.

Context of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was a coordinated strike by Indian forces targeting multiple terror hubs across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Muridke. The operation was launched in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians.

Rebuilding Efforts and Funding
Despite the destruction, LeT is reportedly receiving financial support to reconstruct the Muridke headquarters. Pakistan has allocated PKR 4 crore for the project, with the total estimated cost exceeding PKR 15 crore. The reconstruction is expected to be completed by February 2026, with the facility intended to serve as a hub for training and indoctrination.

Conclusion
The admission by LeT commander Abu Qasim underscores the impact of Operation Sindoor on the group’s operations. While efforts to rebuild the Muridke headquarters are underway, the international community continues to monitor the situation closely, emphasizing the need for sustained counter-terrorism measures.
