Shashi Tharoor Criticizes Kerala Government Over Sabarimala Gold Theft Allegations

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has strongly criticized the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Kerala government in the wake of the Sabarimala gold theft controversy. Tharoor expressed concern over the alleged siphoning off of gold from the Sabarimala temple, describing the situation as a “betrayal of temple sanctity.” He welcomed the Kerala High Court’s decision to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter but emphasized the need for accountability from the state government.

The controversy centers around discrepancies in the weight and gold content of donated panels removed for restoration at the Sabarimala temple. The Kerala High Court’s directive for an SIT investigation aims to uncover the truth behind these allegations and hold those responsible accountable.

Tharoor’s remarks add to the growing political pressure on the state government to address the issue transparently and ensure justice for the devotees of the Sabarimala temple. The outcome of the SIT investigation is eagerly awaited, as it holds significant implications for the credibility of the temple administration and the state government’s handling of religious affairs.
