Unauthorized Access Sparks Action: Delhi Golf Club Bans Deepak Dhawan and Wife for Impersonation and Misconduct

In a significant disciplinary action, the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) has reportedly imposed a complete ban on businessman Deepak Dhawan and his wife Ritu Dhawan after allegations of impersonation, unauthorized access, and repeated violation of club rules came to light.

According to club insiders and members familiar with the development, Deepak Dhawan, who was registered under limited playing access provisions, allegedly began projecting himself as a full-time regular member. Sources claim he accessed Course A, despite being permitted to play only on Course B and for restricted playing days in a week.

Members allege that Dhawan not only violated playing rules but also began hosting social gatherings and parties within the premises, an entitlement strictly reserved for full-category members with complete playing rights. The situation reportedly escalated when his wife, Mrs. Ritu Dhawan, allegedly began accompanying him without possessing any formal playing or entry permissions granted by the Club.

Senior “Category A” members of DGC are said to have formally objected to what they termed as repeated misconduct and misrepresentation. Following their protest, the matter was placed before the Management Committee.

After reviewing the complaints and examining the circumstances, the committee unanimously decided to ban the entry of both Deepak Dhawan and Ritu Dhawan from the Delhi Golf Club premises. Club authorities reportedly emphasized that maintaining decorum, discipline, and respect for membership protocols remains non-negotiable.

The action has sparked discussions within elite golfing circles about security, compliance enforcement, and the sanctity of exclusive membership rights. The Delhi Golf Club, one of the most prestigious golfing institutions in India, is expected to issue further clarification if necessary.

The Dhawans have not publicly responded to the development yet.
